Thank You, Sierra Club

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Yep. This one, put up just west of Mandan, North Dakota, en route to the Bad Lands, is the work of North Dakota’s Sierra Club organizer, Wayde Schafer. No more words needed.

  1. Prolly shoulda done put some of these beauties up when this first started and the ND DEQ (not to be confused with Dairy Queen) would have had more pressure to deny the initial permit and lots of big bucks could have been spent on things that count, not lawsuits.

  4. Hi Jim – the message is great, I love it. But, I’m curious – are those the South Dakota badlands in that picture? The geology appears to more closely resemble the SD badlands then the ND badlands.

  5. Hi Jim,
CC is right — those don’t look like our Badlands. I rejoined the Sierra Club and said it was a thank you due to the oil refinery billboard. Now I don’t feel so bad about saying the sign was in Bismarck when it’s really west of Mandan. 😉
