Lillian and I took a drive Monday morning to see if we could find the Snowy Owls that had been reported south of Mandan, ND. Sure enough, we found 5, including this mature Snowy who stopped in for a visit to the Bohemian Hall. That’s him, over on top the power pole, in the picture at right. I snuck up behind the building for a little closer look, and to get the picture on the left. I’ve just got to get a telephoto lens. Sigh.
Best morning of the year, so far.
Nice shot. The snowy owl is my favorite bird ever. They look so wise and mysterious. Great to see them flying further south this year so we all get a chance to see them.
